On 16 November 1987, O'Connor participated in a World Wrestling Federation "old-timers" battle royal, which was won by Lou Thesz. He passed away on August 16, 1990.
He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the "Legacy" wing on April 2, 2016.
