Garvin was known to be a popular member of the Fabulous Freebirds in the early days of their careers, although he never appeared with them in the WWE.
In 2007, Garvin was brought into the WWE to appear on an installment of "Legends" on WWE Classics on Demand, discussing managers.
On February 29, 2016, the Freebirds were announced to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, including Garvin.
